Welcome
Winning logo chosen for the 60th anniversary of German-Israeli relations
Against the background of a dark past, the fact that Israel and Germany today maintain diplomatic relations is a real miracle. It is a symbol of hope and, above all, grounds for joy and pride – year after year. Germany is a strategic partner for Israel, second in importance only to the United States. Israel and Germany are united in their engagement for common values and in their resolve to tackle the current challenges together.
Sixty years after Prime Minister David Ben-Gurion and Federal Chancellor Konrad Adenauer officially established diplomatic relations, Germany and Israel will commemorate this historic event in a joyful and emotional way.
The year 2025 will see a large number of joint events and activities reflecting the diversity and depth of German-Israeli relations: concerts, exhibitions, forums and discussions will take place alternately in Germany and Israel. They are intended to promote dialogue and to explore further the various issues on the agenda.
This special year will not only be marked in neon-lit offices, but will be carried out onto the streets, to celebrate the ties between the people who are the most important element of our relations. For this reason, the two countries’ Foreign Ministers launched a competition for the creation of a joint logo to symbolise this special relationship. The winning design comes from Uri Mor from Shenkar College of Design. Our congratulations also go to the second and third-place winners, Holger Schulze and Jan Kranefeld from Germany.
The logo will be visible at all joint activities this year, whether at political, cultural or civil-society level.
The celebrations to mark this 60th anniversary will not only look back at an extraordinary history, but also onwards into the future. The jointly organised events will invite the general public to play an active role in shaping our shared future in the face of current challenges. Be a part of it!
