The Iranian nuclear programme

After a protracted conflict surrounding the Iranian nuclear programme due to justified doubts about its exclusively civilian nature, Germany, France, the UK, the US, Russia, China and Iran signed the so-called JCPOA on 14 July 2015 in an attempt to resolve this crisis at the negotiating table.

Since July 2019, Iran has begun to roll back the implementation of its obligations under the JCPoA to an ever increasing extent. Germany, France and the UK have now triggered the Dispute Resolution Mechanism envisaged by the JCPoA. Their objective is to preserve the Agreement.
